RENNtech Motorsports with drivers Michael Auriemma and Matheus Leist win the final race of SRO Pirelli GT4 America 2024 season.

WHAT A RACE! WHAT A SEASON!

RENNtech Motorsports Team with drivers Michael Auriemma and Matheus Leist scored overall victory in SRO’s Pirelli GT4 America Race 2 on Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The win at the prestigious track also marked the final race in the 2024 racing season, where Auriemma and Leist placed 4th and RENNtech Motorsports Team 5th in the Pro-Am category.

The Stuart, FL, based Team celebrated the 2nd win and 3rd podium finish of the season and their 6th season of racing in the SRO Pirelli GT4 America -series. 

“It is great to win at Indy - Michael and Matheus drove a fantastic race, and the Team did an outstanding job delivering a winning car. The season was eventful, and we are happy to go home with the win here today”.

“I was going for it today. You know we had a few chances through the year, but today was great. We had a great car. RENNtech gave us a very good car, a very good car, and Mercedes was great today! Just very happy with this win, Michael drove a great race today. Very happy to come out with the overall win here at Indy!”.

A Game-Changer for Family Haulers:

    The ECU+ Upgrade unlocks more of the M157's potential, ensuring the near 6000 lbs of Mercedes-Benz feels lighter on its feet. The Hand Held Tuner flashes RENNtech Developed tune to the engine's electronic control unit (ECU), with in 90 seconds. The same module can be used to flash the vehicle back to stock, whenever taking the vehicle in for service - or wanting a reminder on what stock feels like.

    This results in faster acceleration and a more responsive driving experience, improving the GL 63 AMG performance figures - from 0 - 60 and rolling 60 - 100 mph pulls.

    

    RENNtech's transmission software upgrade improves the transmission of the increased engine performance to the wheels. The Transmission upgrade results in enhanced shift response, optimized shift timing, and an ability to handle more torque, ensuring that the newfound power is efficiently transferred to the ground. This not only improves overall drivability but also significantly reduces 0-60 times.

Best sounding upgrade for BiTurbo V8 Mercedes-AMG

RENNtech Stainless Steel Downpipes for M177 V8 BiTurbo Engines.

The amount of sound a vehicle makes is mostly dependent on the flow of the exhaust system, which can be broken into three main parts; Headers/Downpipes, Mid-Pipe, and Mufflers/Resonators.

Downpipes are the "hot-end" in turbo-charged exhaust systems. They connect the exhaust manifold to the pipes that lead exhaust gasses down through the catalytic converters toward the mufflers and out exhaust tips.

The Headers / Downpipes are the first point in the flow and sound of exhaust. The factory Mercedes-Benz AMG catalytic converters are designed capture harmful particles and to meet global emissions regulations. For most part the AMG exhaust systems have good flowing cats as they know less restrictive means better MPG and reduced emissions.  

RENNtech stainless steel downpipes are equipped with 200 Cell Catalytic Converters, which capture the same particles as stock set. RENNtech downpipes are designed for motorsport applications, maximizing the power and performance of the engine. The robust exhaust note and no Check Engine Light is the cherry on top, making the system a favorite of AMG owners. 

Downpipes and headers are custom built by our in house fabrication department at RENNtech's headquarters in Stuart, FL. Available for most Mercedes-Benz AMG models, the downpipes are the best solution for those looking for a little bit more from their car. 

2023 Supercar Week

Supercar Week 2023 West Palm Beach.

SuperCar Week 2023 was nine days of automotive events hosted throughout Palm Beach County. This year the weeklong series of events culminated at the Grand Finale on the West Palm Beach Waterfront, with over 100,000 enthusiasts gathering to participate in the excitement.

RENNtech showed up in force, staking a claim on the lawn for modern and classics Mercedes-Benz and a selection of pre-merger AMG’s. Visitors got up close and personal with RENNtech Development Vehicles, the AMG GT and CLS 53 AMG, while our Engineer’s were on hand answering questions and talking cars.

The gullwing doors of the SLR McLaren, one in silver and another 722 -version in black, were showstoppers and are destined to draw a crowd anywhere these very special vehicles show up. The SLR “super grand tourers” still look striking among the super and hyper cars of today.

RENNtech Classics received a great amount of attention and as a result started fascinating conversations between Hartmut Feyhl and visitors. With the growing interest in pre-merger AMG vehicles, RENNtech has become the destination for collectors who are looking to bring back the performance of these iconic machines.

This year we were lucky to bring the original E300 6.0 AMG “Silver Hammer” which was restored and repowered at RENNtech in 2022. The Hammer was flanked by a 560 SEL 6.0 AMG, and a fully restored 560 SEC 6.0 Widebody.

These special vehicles got to share a ride with RENNtech Motorsports #89 MB Gram AMG GT4 in the Motorsports Team trailer. Part of the Race Village, the AMG GT4 was resting on the lawn in front of mega yachts enjoying the cool and sunny day before heading to pre-season testing for the upcoming SRO GT4 America -season.

Stratasys F770 3D Printer - First in Florida

RENNtech Engineering has utilized 3D printers to create prototypes, jigs, and parts for over two decades. Our most recent addition to the printer lineup is the Stratasys F770, which is capable of printing large parts over 3 feet in length / width and is the first one of its kind in the State of Florida.

The use of 3D printing helps lowering cost and lead time of production parts though verifying concepts and fitment, and shortens the time-to-market for new products. This allows RENNtech to introduce new products to the market at competitive prices without compromising design, quality or time.

“3D printing has always been a great tool for rapid prototyping, but there’s a common problem of build volume being too small. With the F770 is capable of producing large parts in one or two pieces instead of five or six. This will enable us to design, and prototype printed parts we have not attempted before; like hoods, widebody kits, and doors. The upcoming years will be very imaginative and exciting, I cannot wait to see what we come up with. “ – Connor Salley, Engineer RENNtech

The Stratasys F770 uses the highest quality ABS and ASA materials which can be used for large size prototypes or lightweight production pieces. The first production piece from the Stratasys F770 will be the Eurostyle Bumper Plate designed for the C257 CLS -chassis.

Designed in house, the Eurostyle Bumper Plate is designed to eliminate the unsightly American “bumperette”, replacing it with a form-fitting insert for a sleek look. After printing, the part will be test-fitted and then finished in either primer or gloss black before made available for our customers.

Other performance products that benefit from 3D printing at this scale include our carbon fiber Aero products. With prototype Aero parts we can test fit and visually inspect parts designed in CAD before moving to carbon fiber manufacturing, a valuable pre-production feature of 3D printing which benefits the end user – the Mercedes-AMG Performance enthusiast.

RENNtech CLA 45 AMG ECU Now Available

RENNtech is pleased to announce our proprietary ECU upgrade for the Mercedes M133 engine that offers huge gains in performance across the entire RPM range without sacrificing around town comfort or daily driver reliability. The end result is nothing short of spectacular with the RENNtech ECU upgrade making up to an incredible 428 HP and 417 TQ at the crank!

Our Piggyback is still available but now RENNtech is ready to tune your CLA 45. Tuning the ECU allows us to do a more complete modification of the vehicle’s performance including drivability adjustments, shift improvements, speed limits, torque control and response times.

This ECU Upgrade is also available for the 156 GLA and 176 - A Class.

CLA 45 AMG (C217 - M133 2.0L Engine) Stock Performance:

• 355 hp @ 6,000 RPM; 332 lb-ft @ 2,250-5,000 RPM
• Note: Mercedes M133 engine performance when measured obtains higher numbers that rated from factory.

RENNtech AMG GT-S Dowpipes Official Release

RENNtech is proud to announce the official release of High-Performance Downpipes for the 190 - AMG GT-S.

The first production sets have been installed on our preferred loyal customer cars, and we are now ready for public orders.

Our Downpipes are designed and manufactured at the RENNtech Headquarters in Stuart, Florida.

RENNtech Downpipes are constructed from 304 High-Strength Stainless Steel and are equipped with 200 Cell Sport Catalytic Converters.

The Downpipes in the pictures are shown prior to ceramic coating in order to present the craftsmanship of these hand made products.

With the replacement of the stock downpipes we improve performance, reduce back pressure, increase initial turbo spooling and enhance sound output.

Performance gains up to 10HP and up to 10 LB-FT.

Note: These downpipes are intended for track use.

Renntech SL65 Gartel Art Car

This year’s Art Basel Miami event saw the creation and unveiling of the RENNtech Mercedes SL65 V-12 by artist Laurence Gartel.  The car is a vibrant depiction and inspiration of Miami’s colorful energy depicting a fusion between the reality of nature and the cybernetic fantasy of digital imagery.

The vehicle will be traveling across the country on display at many high profile events including the 2015 Grammy Awards held Febuary 8th in Los Angeles, CA.

Last week, some of our RENNTECH customers spent some time running a pair of RENNTECH-tuned AMGs down Palm Beach International's new 1/4 mile drag strip - and the results were impressive: an 11.654 time at over 120.70 mph on Nitto Invo street tires!

With Hartmut/RENNTECH's close ties to AMG and the role he plays in the American chapter of AMG lore, I thought this 'Fiends article might be very appropriate on the RENNTECH news blog.

For those not "in the know", AMG's Hammer was a run-of-the-mill 300E with a 5.6-liter 4 valve V8 under its hood. This combination could achieve 60 mph in a tick over 5 seconds, run the quarter-mile in 13.5 seconds on its way to a terminal velocity of 186 mph - faster than the contemporary Porsche 928, Aston Vantage, Ferrari Testarossa, and Lambo Countach ... and AMG's Hammer started every time.

MB's E63 AMG is still under development according to these latest spy shots taken by WCF's photographers at the Nurburgring. It still carries a good bit of camo, but there won't be many surprises in the styling department after Mercedes' Concept FASCINATION reveal (covered HERE).

We'll have to wait and see what changes AMG have made to the E's running gear.
