C63 STANDING MILE RESULTS!

This past weekend RENNTECH participated in a Standing Mile event at the Dade-Collier airstrip. There was a fairly decent turnout and our tuned C63 drew all sorts of attention. Last week, we fabricated some unique aero enhancements in-house for this event. These exterior additions bumped the cars standing mile speed up nearly 9mph - 185MPH! Proving that aerodynamics has just as much an effect on a vehicles ability to “go fast” as its actual performance output. Here are a few pics and a video of the C63 in "standing-mile trim".

This video shoot was a celebratory shoot in that we had just set two quarter mile world records in each vehicle a few weeks prior.

ATTENTION 2009+ G-WAGON OWNERS!

RENNtech introduces the all new G-Wagon trailer hitch mounting kit designed specifically for 2009 and up G-Wagons. Since Mercedes does not offer a trailer package for the current G-Wagons, RENNtech has engineered reinforcements to mount an OE Mercedes hitch to the vehicle. The heavy duty reinforcement attaches the Mercedes hitch to the G-Wagons frame. An optional modified rear impact panel is also available and required for installation of the hitch. Maximum trailer weight: 7000lb. (3178 kg.)

RENNTECH STRIKES - TWICE!

RENNtech, the internationally recognized leader in Mercedes-Benz AMG tuning, has 20+ years of experience in developing the world's fastest AMG vehicles to claim the streets.

Two separate 1/4 mile records were made by two very impressive RENNtech cars at Palm Beach International Raceway on Wednesday February 10th, 2010.

The first record was made by a customer's CL65. The vehicle was recently upgraded with newly developed RENNtech modifications which created substantial power and torque improvements. A World Record quarter mile pass of 10.62 seconds @ 133.7 mph was clocked on the cars final pass of the night.

While everyone was celebrating the CL65's record pass, Hartmut Feyhl, owner of RENNtech, set a new record with his very own C63. The vehicle is fully equipped with RENNtech engine, driveline, suspension, and braking modifications, as well as a few other prototype products under development. Hartmut ran 11.6 seconds @ 125.3 mph, which is the Worlds quickest trap speed recorded for the C63.

One RENNtech customer now has the Worlds fastest CL65. It clocked a 10.62@133.7mph! Thanks to newly developed RENNtech mods.

RENNtech's very own C63 set the fastest trap speed for any C63 by posting up a 11.6@125.3mph!

RENNtech tunes the SL65 Black Series

RENNtech is making progress on one of this year's most sought-after supercars, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 Black Series. Initial ECU programming results on the twin-turbo V12 were remarkable. And after further testing and development RENNtech massaged 630 HP / 765 LB-FT at the wheels on the in-house dyno. In the case of this particular dyno run that's 67HP/69LB-FT over stock. Helping to plant that tire-liquifying power to the ground is a custom 100% locking limited-slip differential.

R.A.T. (RENNtech Auto Tuner)

RENNtech has introduced a new revolutionary Auto Tuner for Mercedes-Benz vehicles. For the first time, you can reprogram your ECU simply by plugging in the new R.A.T. (RENNtech Auto Tuner). No need to remove the ECU!! Once the reprogramming is complete (about 90 seconds), you can easily switch between stock, for street use, and tuned, for the track, with the flick of a switch.

The R.A.T. is shipped out preprogrammed with RENNtech’s list of firmware and can be sent anywhere in the world. When first plugged into your Mercedes-Benz via the OBD II port, the tuner “marries” itself and uploads the proper file. If the proper file is not already available or you would like to have a custom file made, simply plug the R.A.T. into your computer. The vehicle data is sent to RENNtech and, after being tested, your new file is emailed back to you. If you lose power or the R.A.T. is disconnected while uploading the file, the tuner is designed to automatically recover the stock programming.

The R.A.T. is available for the Mercedes-Benz E55 and 2006, or earlier, Mercedes V12 Turbos. See our website for more info.

Built for actor/comedian Jerry Seinfeld, this vehicle appears to be the sole tuner-concocted MB to call the Irvine, CA Mercedes-Benz Classic Center USA its home.

Not content to sit on the sidelines while the world watches Ferrari, RUF, and others debut their new supercars, Mercedes-Benz release a full, 35 picture gallery of hi-res "spy" photos of their upcoming SLC/SLS "gullwing" supercar. The SLR McLaren successor promises to be just as fast as the outgoing SLR, addressing that car's weight issues and being more "true" to Mercedes' heritage.

2009 marks two special birthdays: it is RENNTECH's 20th year in business and the G wagen's 30th year of production! As previously mentioned HERE, RENNTECH is celebrating its 20 years of tuning excellence with a series of extremely limited-production specials that set new industry standards for Mercedes-Benz performance tuning.

The concept shown makes use of a RENNTECH-tuned Mercedes-Benz CDI Diesel, which makes almost 400 lb-ft of torque in production tune. Final output TDB.

Last week, some of our RENNTECH customers spent some time running a pair of RENNTECH-tuned AMGs down Palm Beach International's new 1/4 mile drag strip - and the results were impressive: an 11.654 time at over 120.70 mph on Nitto Invo street tires!

MORE SPY PICS - SLC GULLWING

The recently mis-named Autoweek website recently posted new spy photos of Mercedes-Benz' upcoming SLC gullwing revival, which is set to become the company's successor to the SLR McLaren.

We are big fans of the SLR, and these latest images show some very SLR-like taillamps and rear fenders ... all good things.

RENNTECH's new $3995 performance PKG1 for the 05-08 SLK 350 boosts the output of the 268 hp V6 to over 300 hp. That's 40 horsepower for under $4000!

This level of performance and torque comes from new RENNTECH headers and a RENNTECH ECU upgrade, which also raises the car's top speed from the factory-limited 155 mph to over 170 mph. As the copy above states: this package will change the way you look at Mercedes' 350 series cars.

RENNTECH was once again a part of the Pine School's "100 years of cars" auto show, where we displayed our 2008 SEMA award-winning GLK hybrid rally-racer.

The GLK (above) was in good company, with several unique exotics and historic automobiles also in attendance, including Enzo Ferrari's own Alfa Romeo road car (below) as well as an authentic Berger F1 Ferrari and the first Alfa Romeo 8C to land in Florida.
