Mercedes CLK GTR | A True Supercar Unicorn
What defines a true Supercar nowadays?
Exotic Looks, Power, Exclusivity. When Mercedes-AMG set out to succeed in the
FIA GT1 class in 1997, they were required to build a road version of their
race-car. This led to the creation of one of the most iconic Supercars, often
referred to as the ‘Unicorn’.
So, what makes the CLK GTR a true
supercar?
Exotic Looks? Mercedes-AMG’s
Motorsport specialist HWA (named after AMG Co-Founder Hans Werner Aufrecht),
who built the race-car made only slight changes to the road version. A few of
the adjustments included; a fixed rear wing, increased ground clearance and an
interior equipped with airbags, electronics and an A/C system.
Power? The standard CLK GTR coupe is
equipped with a 6.0L V12 Mercedes engine, producing 623 HP and 539 LB-FT. As if
this wasn’t enough, HWA released a SuperSport edition where they upgraded to a
7.3L V12 Mercedes-AMG engine. The CLK GTR SS raises the power output to 655 HP
and 580 LB-FT. A sprint to 60mph only takes 3.4 sec and runs a ¼ mile in 9.6
sec with a trap-speed of 145mph, all from a standing start. An impressive
320km/h / 199mph is possible in the CLK GTR.
Exclusivity? After Mercedes-AMG
initially built two Prototypes (which were later turned into road legal
versions) and 7 race cars, they only manufactured 27 road legal vehicles. Six
of those were roadster variants, which were built without a roof and two
right-hand drive vehicles, both exclusively built for the Sultan of Brunei (one
coupe and one roadster). The special SuperSport edition, equipped with the 7.3L
Mercedes-AMG engine, was only produced three times. Therefore, you can clearly
define the CLK GTR as a true Unicorn.
At the time of the release, the price
of the Mercedes-AMG CLK GTR was over $1.5 million, making it the most expensive
production car of its time. The Mercedes-AMG CLK GTR is one of the most unique
and timeless Supercars to date. RENNtech has been putting one of the three CLK
GTR SS through their test, including road course laps at Palm Beach
International Raceway. Full performance analysis and video will be released
soon. In between testing, the CLK GTR SS is presented at the RENNtech HQ
showroom.
If you are lucky enough to ever see
one in person, make sure to value the moment. A unicorn does not appear too
often.

RENNtech | Carbon Fiber Decklid Spoiler | W205 C-Class Sedan
RENNtech is proud to introduce an all new rear decklid spoiler for all W205 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sedan Models.
This highly integrated pre-preg carbon fiber spoiler compliments the sophisticated and refined C-Class exterior design language.
With the newly introduced hybrid-design blending the traditional Decklid spoiler with a winglet feature, the aerodynamic enhancement gives the C-Class’s exterior a seriously aggressive aesthetic.
The spoiler is coated inside and out with an all new acrylic UV protection system and is available in a matte and gloss finish.A second layer of UV protectant clear coating is also applied using traditional spray methods, in order to create a smooth finish.
Prepreg is widely known as the finest process in carbon fiber manufacturing and has been used for aerospace and military applications because of its superior consistency in weight, thickness, fitment, resin, carbon layout, and overall quality.
The pre-impregnated (prepreg) fiber method creates stiffer, stronger laminates with controllable, predictable results and the result is a consistent, tight fiber weave which not only looks amazing, but adds strength. Other companies use a lower cost, wet-layup method which results in components of inferior, strength, appearance and overall quality.
This spoiler is designed to fit any W205 - C-Class Sedan model from 2015 and up.
RENNtech Carbon Fiber Decklid Spoiler.
Designed in the U.S. | Produced in Germany
Note:
• No drilling or modifications to the trunk are necessary, installs with 3M double-sided automotive tape.
• Available in gloss and matte finish

Hand-Held Suspension Module
W222 | C217 | S-Class
The RENNtech Hand-Held Suspension Module (HSM) is designed to work with the W222 - S-Class Sedan and C217 - S-Class Coupé/Cabriolet, equipped with the Mercedes ABC Hydraulic Suspensions. The unit allows the user to have full control over all four corners of the vehicle’s suspension and adjust in 1mm increments.
The HSM comes pre-loaded with a RENNtech lowering setting. User can load their custom setting onto the HSM to set the vehicle to their preferred ride height.
The desired lowering setting will be loaded onto the vehicle via the ODB2 port in the footwell of the car. After plugging the HSM into the ODB2 port, the user can toggle a switch to load the factory or the adjusted ride height. After a few seconds, the new setting is uploaded and the car will adjust to the new height.
The factory setting will always be stored on the HSM and the user can set the vehicle back to the factory setting.
Once the settings are loaded, simply unplug and store for future use.
All RENNtech HSMs are adjustable via USB using either Windows or Android OS. The software allows the user to adjust the ride-height at each corner in 1mm increments independently. The software also has three locations where the user can store pre-configured suspension setups for quick changes.
• Pre-loaded with a RENNtech optimized setting
• Fully adjustable with the RENNtech Suspension Software
• Custom setting loaded onto suspension module via USB
• Lower and raise your car through the ODB2 port within seconds
• Full Installation time 10 seconds
