RENNtech Motorsports heads to Road America
RENNtech Motorsports is returning to the track at Road America with Guy Cosmo and Patrick Byrne
behind the wheel of the #89 Torxen RENNtech Motorsports AMG GT4.
The RT Motorsports Team and both drivers are headed for the grid in the second-to-last race of the Pirelli GT4 America SprintX race at Road America, WI, September 20 -22, 2019.
“Right now we are 100% focused on preparing for the race, making sure that TORXEN #89 AMG GT4 runs perfect. Our job is to bring the best car to the grid for Patrick and Guy to drive.” commented Team Owner, Hartmut Feyhl from RENNtech’s headquarters in Stuart, FL.
Signed up for the remainder of the Pirelli GT4 America World Challenge -series with the RENNtech Motorsports Team, Cos-mo and Byrne had to make some quick decisions prior to the race at Watkins Glen after the Motorsports Team race hauler was forced off the Interstate in Virginia only days before the race.
“What happened with the Watkins Glen weekend was truly unfortunate. However, we are excited to be getting back to our original plans with RENNtech and go racing with the #89 Torxen Mercedes-AMG at Road America. I have said this before, but Patrick and I want to make sure that when we race, we’re racing with people, partners, manufacturers, and a series that share the vested interest we have put forth. RENNtech Motorsports is 100% committed to doing the right thing, getting the best results, and so are we.” Said Cosmo
Having to find an alternate seat with another team and driving a Porsche Cayman GT4 at Watkins Glen, the duo’s second race ended when Byrne was knocked out in a high-speed crash caused by #3 Epic Motorsports BMW M4 GT4 car. Fortu-nately, both drivers walked away unharmed from the crash where both cars were heavily damaged.
“It has been a crazy week and race weekend. It was unfortunate what happened in Sunday’s race, and we are happy to be moving forward. I am excited to finally get behind the wheel of the TORXEN #89 RENNtech Motorsports AMG GT4. I know it will be very fast and I look forward to racing at Road America.” Said Byrne.
With two races left in the Pirelli World Challenge America -series, Road America, will be a proving ground for both drivers and the team.
“We have been hard at work since returning to Florida. The TORXEN #89 RENNTech Motorsports AMG GT4 is running great, and we are ready to bring it to the limits at Road America. Everyone on the Team and at RENNtech is really excited to see Guy and Patrick behind the wheel and the car back on track!” said Sascha Kempter, RENNtech Motorsports Team Manager.
The final races of the Pirelli GT4 America World Challenge championship will be at Road America, Wisconsin, September 20th – 22nd, followed by Las Vegas, NV, October 18th – 20th.
